Question:

Would trying to clone a monkey cell with a human cell solve the ape and prehistoric man question?

  1. It probably wouldn't solve it, but it would certainly offer a few useful clues.  Such a clone would either be a dumb human or a smart monkey, so any observation of its activities could be easily compared to those of a thoroughbred monkey.  The only real purpose the clone would serve would be to separate purely monkey mannerisms from purely human mannerisms, but doing so would indeed help to connect the evolutionary dots between the two.
