Would u mind if you look five years younger than your real age?

i'm 16, currently going to start college in 2 days.. and i'm feeling very insecure about my age due to the fact i look much younger than most of my friends and other college students.Dating is not an issue, but its just that i'm tired of people saying i look very young, around the age of 12-13.. i guess its more like my facial features that make me looks younger than my age..i'm not that short either.. i'm only 5'2".. Is there any advice on what i should do??

nothing, you just do your thing cause those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind besides it is so flattering when someone thinks your young it means your cute

Congratulations on your early entry into college!

I recommend that you just be yourself.  Sure, you'll get comments but don't give them any merit.  I have always looked younger than my age and it used to bother me quite a bit.  I was still asked for my ID to purchase alcohol or get into clubs when I was 30.  I tried everything you can imagine to look older, from different makeup and hair to more "mature" clothing.  Nothing worked, so I just gave up.  It bothered me until I was about 35.  Then I began noticing how much older many women my age looked.  I'll be 40 this year and many people still assume me to be much younger, often guessing my age at around 30.  At this point, I'm very thankful that genetics were on my side.  Just hang in there... you'll feel much better about it in a few years.

I am 46 and people say I look 30. I thank God, because a lot of my peers look a lot older. Be glad that you look young. When you get to be older, you will appreciate that "young look". 16 and on your way to college? Well, that tells me that you are way ahead of your class and very smart. My step-daughter is an honor roll student and has been since grade school. She went off to college last week. She has been very sheltered and not allowed to "hang out". My biggest fear is of her getting "wild" when she is on her own. Don't let the boys sweet talk you into something that will effect the rest of your life. Please don't succumb to peer pressure and try to make yourself look older. It is a blessing to look young.  As far as dating....Save yourself until marriage.   God bless you

Uh YES I would mind. I'm 18, haha (and I'm 5'2" too!). It doesn't matter how I wear my hair or do my makeup, everyone thinks I am 15! One old lady even yelled at my boss because she thought I was too young to be working and accused him of using child labor, haha.

The only thing you can really do is act about 30 and I find that that pretty much balances everything out.

16 and starting college.. what did you skip a grade or two..if so that is impressive . my advice is to study hard.. and what out for the guys who will lie and tell you anything to get what they want from you.

I'm 26, i get carded alll the time!!! Its horrible and i feel your pain :) , all i can say- and i know you've probably heard it a million times (so have i) but it's true- you will appreciate it someday when all your friends look old and you have the baby face and look 10 years younger!! People can't believe I have a one year old, and give me dirty looks thinking i'm a young teen, lol, as in 15 years old. My husband also gets dirty looks, haha. I guess we just need to tell people to mind their own business and think about their looks not ours. Good luck deal with this- I know what a pain in the butt it is to get those stupid comments. You need to come up w/ a comeback- horrible at them. maybe someone else can suggest one.

Twenty years from now you'll be wishing you looked younger. Don't worry about how you look so much! Who cares? If you're mentally intelligent and mature, then that will shine over the way you appear. When you open your mouth, people will hear an articulate, beautiful, young woman...The only other thing I could suggest is that you dress maturely and fashionably.

People ALWAYS think I'm younger than I am. I always always get carded. I'm 25 years old, people usually guess me at 19 or 20. I'm very petite and have been told I have very young looking skin haha which I guess is a good thing! I wouldnt worry about it...you'll be happy about it when your older!
