Would u rather watch your most disliked team win the premiership or Michael Phelps 8 gold another entire week?

I am so over seeing Micheal Phelps footage on Australian television!

Yes its an enormous achievement but ffs show us some Aussies doing well for a change!

They havent even shown footage of Aussies winning gold in rowing in some states which is disgusting!

I am soooo over Micheal Phelps that I would probably even cheer for my least favourite team winning the premiership over seeing that smug yankee again!

Channel 7 keep showing it, because it is a once in a lifetime event.

Need to go back to 1972 in Munich to when Mark Spitz won 7 gold medals, to even come close to Phelps achievement!

As for watching Carlton or Colling wood win the flag, Id sooner watch a real athlete in a once in a lifetime any day

Teams wins flags every year, but we may never ever see anyone win 9 gold medals to beat what Phelps has done

Think Tony Lockett kicking 1300 goals..

When are we likely to ever see anyone do that again...

My opinion is that run again, the 7th race would go to the other guy who chose to glide to the wall. He was a clear leader but misjudged the finish. He gave it to Phelps and by only 1/100th second.

I’m sure if Sullivan, Hackett, Trickett, or Schipper won (8) gold medals in a single Olympics and won more individual medals over a (3) Olympic career to qualify as in the top 10 all time for whole countries….I’m sure they would deserve some attention.

seeing some american win gold medals in a sport i care so little about, or see Port Adelaide/Collingwood become victorious in a grandfinal, and have all the port/magpie feral supporters around me rub it in my face... ummm, im pretty sure that i would MUCH rather see some yank win some swimming races.

the olympics isnt such a big deal to me. when was the last time americans were getting arrogant because they had a swimmer that was faster than ours?

so i say, let Dumbo win his medals

Yes, agreed. I think I might even prefer to watch Collingwood than C7 & their fixation with Michael Phelps. I'm beginning to believe that C7 have as high an opinion of Phelps as he does of himself.

I wish they'd lock Phelps & Bruce McAvaney in a room, alone, for 24 hours. The experience would do both of them the world of good.

And who are C7's decision makers? Do they really believe the Oz viewing public wants to see Phelps, Phelps & more Phelps?

I'm over him too.. i feel for eamon sullivan.. all the talk from the media about he didn't get gold! well he got SILVER! they should be pleased with that and not say but he didn't get gold!

I could get over freo winning a premiership because eagles will still have more premierships then they do! but the americans bragging about micheal phelps record gold medals - which will be hard to beat for the aussies! You have more of a chance of winning a flag then 8 gold medals! So i'm going to have to say.. freo winning a premiership. (god forbid!)

I like Michael Phelps, he deserves the attention he is getting, he is a champion! I would never wish for Carlton to win a premiership! So Michael Phelps it is!

EDIT: I do see where you're coming from Louise Maree, and it can get a bit overbearing at times, but I would never wish for Carlton to win a flag! :)

Hating Yankees? Yes, the New York Yankees are more hated in the USA than Collingwood is in Australia.

BTW, footy fans, did you see that one of your silver medal rower boys was former Bulldog draftee Cameron McKenzie-McHarg. He was an Oakleigh Charger, but never got an AFL game for the Doggies and was delisted.
