  1. If by money you mean not needing to apply for financial aid, it won't make much difference.

If by money you mean that in three years you'll be cutting the ribbon on Your-Last-Name Hall, home of Ivy University's new School of Hedge Fund Management, then you can probably go wherever you want, but the application process will take place at a series of country clubs and Caribbean resorts, and you won't be involved.

  2. In some ways yes and no. The thing is no matter how much money you have, if you aren't used to busting your tushy off studying and working, you more than likely will not graduate. I went to school with a few people who thought that. They all funked out.

I also know one girl who asked for an appeal after she didn't get into the school of her choice. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. For some universities (usually the bigger ones), they don't care if you have money or not. You have a required GPA that you have to fulfill and if you don't have it, you won't get in.

  3. sure. I knew a lot of people who had money and bought their way through school, and they didn't even have average grades.

  4. Not needing aid makes a significant difference at MOST colleges. However, it depends on what you mean by "good.". Your grades and scores still need to be close to their average.
