say US company wants to start selling their IT solutions in EMEA. they have no presence in EMEA and presumably no idea about the outlook for this market before they hire me (seldom companies invest in market research upfront).

they offer low basic salary and high commission but let's face it first year or two u cannot expect much sales (u need to build pipeline from scratch) so high commission is unlikely.

Also it may happen that after I built sales pipeline they will fire and someone else will close my deals and get commission - how to reduce that risk ?

  1. If you want to reduce the risk of your sales being stolen then make a personal connection with the clients. Make the client want to talk to you and not somebody else. A good trick to that is to do business through your cell phone so you use that number. That way you're sales will be linked to you and not the position
