Would u think negatively about this type of person?

If you're told that someone won't open up or talk to you until they get to know you, what would u think about them? Would u think negatively about them?

Not necessarily. I've known people like that. Most of them open up very quickly. But then again I'm not real judgmental either.

Honey, that person has been hurt very bad in the past and is afraid to open up and be hurt one more time.  Be sensitive and give him time and space.  Do not think negative about this person.  This person need very supported friends.

absolutely. I would think they're just trying to get attention, like "oh I need someone to open himself/herself up to me so that I can finally break out of my shell, boohoohoo." shut the h**l up.

it's one thing to be an introvert, it's quite another to practically beg for everyone else to treat you like you're something special because of it.

no. there is no reason to feel negative toward a person who says that.  They just want some time to be able to see if they can trust you before they tell you anything.

no,,all of my best friends were like that in the beginning, i would just talk to them and try to be friends, then they will   probably open up, maybe theyve been hurt and are just protective to find the right friends

No, I'd try to get to know them. If they're shy, it doesn't mean they're a bad person. They just need to warm up to you.

My husband is exactly how you described.  I feel so lucky I got to know him.  I thought his being reserved was sweet.  Once I got to know him he almost gives me too much information haha.
