Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide gas - not water. The gas would just fume off like air bubbles.

Might be a bit coldly extreme if you got some in your mouth though.

no, dry ice turns straight from a solid to a vapor. hence the bubbles and smoke effect. just be careful it is one or two large chunks, you wouldn't want your guests getting any of that in their mouths.

No -- dry ice is solid carbon dioxide.  When you place it into punch, it sublimates into the vapor form of carbon dioxide.  Since dry ice does not actually melt when you place it in the punch, there is no risk of it becoming watery.  Make sure that you do not injest the dry ice as this will cause serious damage at -109 deg F.
