Would wearing sunglasses improve my 200 and 400 time?

i mean i hear that they help a lot but i just wanna know if they are worth it

  1. i don't know if they will make a huge difference probably less than a second in either direction depending...good point about the squinting thing though they might help you in that regard.  Since you plan on going D1 this won't apply to you, but if your times aren't so great it looks kind of silly to see someone with like a 32 second 200m time come across the finish line wearing sunglasses.


  2. I think it depends how much you're spending on them, and how much you really need them. Do you ever have problems with the sun in your face? I don't think it will make much difference in the 400, although I myself don't run the 400. I do run the 200, and it may help a bit, but you'll need to make sure you have the kind that don't fall off when you run, particularly for the 200, because when you're running you tend to shake and stuff which could cause them to fall off. It's really your call. I doubt they'll make a huge difference though unless you notice that you have trouble running because the sun's in your eyes. You could try it. You'll probably have to get used to running with them on first. I wouldn't spend too much money on them though. I guess it really depends on how serious about running you are.
