  1. I watched this documentary called "The curse of the lottery" and its all these lottery winners who won and then went crazy.  Like one guy was just so obssesed with security he stopped leaving his house and the highest security cameras around and everything.  Another chick ended up OD'ing on drugs and stuff.  It broke up a lot of marriages.  My dad (who never made more than $12/hour in his life, yet will outright own his house next month, and 4 paid off cars, none of which older than 2001) used to always tell me that everybody says knowledge is power because knowledge brings money but the truth of the matter is that Knowledge is NOT power.... DISCIPLINE is power.  It's not how much money you earn but how much you SAVE that is your true income

  2. "Money can't buy happiness, but it can make misery a lot more entertaining."

  3. You wouldn't see me complaining

  4. Financial freedom does not automatically make one happy.  But it's a lot easier to be happy when you don't have money to worry about.  Money woes are an almost constant source of stress and friction between people.  Remove that, remove the stress, and it's a lot easier to appreciate the small things.  Does it bring happiness?  No.  Does it enable happiness?  Sure.

  5. Yes, of course it will.  Think about it, you constantly worry about all of these financial probs then all of a sudden "BAAM!!!" instant solution.

You see, it all comes down to how you will spend it.  You use it to solve your financial probs, not to make additional ones. You can now pay of debts, pay for medical bills of a loved one, have a financially secure future, etc.etc.

These stories about these people who lose it after winning just don't know how to discipline themselves.  Most of these spend it on gambling (a big no no, hey, you already won, why return the money - though playing a little is allowed, just not too much, ok) or/and had their winnings go to their head (they became arrogant thinking they got "powerful" because of their money).

It's not just financial happiness but a lot more.  Though, sorry to disappoint but it does not include spiritual or religous happiness.  You need clreics, priests and a religion for that.
