Would wireless internet make my webcam lag?

I'm wireless right now with 4 bars at 54 Mbps, but it drops down to 48 Mbps every so often for a few seconds then goes back. My webcam is lagging bad, the audio and video are all out of sync. If I switched to wired would this go away?

All depends on speed, so it really depends. If faster yes. You could also just get better wireless.
