  1. Depending on the school, the type of work done, and the emphasis of your major, working at Planned Parenthood could be good.  Especially if you are interested in an aspect of social work, and your experience directly or indirectly involves case management (if you want to eventually want an MSW or like social work).  Also, if you're more interested in research, perhaps there is an analytic component to the job that would make it good for you.  If there are any opportunities to move up and do work more directly related to your degree, that would also be something to consider.  The secret in life is to make it work for you.

I did a social work type job, and moved my way up into a more analytic position.  I finished my Masters (not in Sociology, but that's beside the point), and am using that particular job to get a senior analyst position making more money than I expected at this point in my life, plus I'll be teaching at a local university.  My point is, if it doesn't work for you now, but it can in the future, make it happen that way.
