I'm not having a go at NASCAR just pointing out that he is better than many who are in F1 currently.

  1. he should have stayed in f1, he's just causing headaches in nascar

  2. This is debatable. I personally think yes. But you have to look at some negatives as well.

He is no doubt an extremely fast and extremely agressive driver. In my opinion he is the most daring overtaker of his generation, if not of all time. His agressive style and temperament made him a great character in F1. However, some things did not favour him.

Juan's agressive style in F1 usually came at a price. In NASCAR and other closed-wheel motorsports 'trading paint' is part of the sport. A small amount of contact is acceptable because the cars can withstand small knocks. An F1 car is not like this. Suspension systems are now very durable, but they will buckle under very little pressure. Front wings are attached by small pieces of carbon fibre. Any contact and you are likely to lose it. Even small pieces falling from the underside of the car can have a drastic affect on performance.

This did not favour Juan, who towards the end of his career consistently got tangled up with other drivers.

Montoya also can lose concentration quite easily. On more than one occasion we have seen him leading a race only to swap ends and spin off.

Putting this aside though, Montoya is a hugely talented driver and I would love to see him back in F1. But its if F1 has the patience and the tolerance for his driving style? If he is one of the best drivers in the world, than there should be no doubt that he should be competing in F1.

  3. Would he want to regain his title as the crash bandit from Nakajima lol.

I agree, he did bring a certain something to F1 and he was exciting to watch. He is not doing much at all at nascar, perhaps he should have gone to DTM, he may have fared better there......

  4. .

At one point in time in his career he was highly motivated, talented and deserved his place in F1.

That period was relatively short-lived however and he then seemed indifferent most of the time, with occasional flashes of brilliance.

No, better for him to be in oval racing and let us enjoy the talent we have now and also the talent to come.

    .

  5. I would love to see him return, if only for his anarchic approach to f1

  6. like even if he wants now no one would be intrested in f-1.....f1 has an attitude like once gone is gone...like haikkenen was some time ago quite intrested in making an comeback...but der wer hardly any intrested heads in the paddock....

  7. Ferrari should swap him for Kimi.

  8. Still can't forgive him and Williams for throwing away the 2003 championship, great qualifier, a man that could overtake Schumacer but had Raikkonen syndrome when he joined McLaren, became too content sitting in 6Th place or brake testing lapped traffic.

Thanks for the memories Juan but don't come back!

  9. the fact is he would need to drive for Mclaren again or ferrari to even want to come back to f1, and as Mclaren has already screwed him (in his eyes) and ferrari not being one to make gambles i dont see it happening,

but for a direct answer to your qquestion i would love to see an alonso/hamilton/montoya battle,
