I would because they were last in the league last year with 56 or so points and come all the way back to 97 points and finish in the NHL Top 4 teams. They'll be even better next year.

  1. Yea they did pretty good I wanted them to beat the Pens but they were alot better then last year

  2. YES  I am very happy with their year and I think they could have won the cup.  But next year is coming and there will be no stopping them.

  3. Yes the Flyers had a great season. A huge turn around from last. I am happy for them and their fans. This is coming from a Panther fan

  4. the flyers had a good season, i wounldnt say amazing but a fairly good season, had some injuries though

  5. THEY HAD AN AMAZING SEASON??? they barely made it in the playoffs.

  6. well, last season they missed the playoff, this season they were 3 wins away from a stanley cup appearance... They do have improved.

  7. I wouldn't say amazing, but very good nonetheless.

  8. Yeah, They certainly did turn things around from the horrible season they had last year. Next season should be even better.

  9. yes they were terrible the  last 2 seasons

  10. NO THE REDWINGS WOULD HAVE KICKED THE FLIYEARS ARS IF THEY PLAYED THEM SO STFU

  11. They had a good season, and a better playoff run. But, if anything, they showed they are still not as good as the elite teams.

  12. yeah i would say that they had a great season, but i will say that they kind of fell apart there at the last game with the ping.

but yeah all in all they had a great season

  13. I think the Flyers had a great season...and as a Penguin fan I would not try and take that away from them. They beat us in the regular season series, but just couldn't compete with the Pens in the finals...it happens to the best of them.

Next year...they could be one of the Top 4 teams in the NHL.

** Jim L.....NO SPAM!!!! Thats just WRONG!!!

  14. Reminded me of the 74-75 Islanders. Finshed last the year before with 56 points(coincidence?), then went on that great playoff run, coming back after being down 0-3 to the Pens, then almost doing it again against the Flyers in the semi-finals.  Looks like they have a good nucleus, if they can afford to keep the team together.

  15. they did and as a flyers fan the exceeded what i thought they would do in the playoffs. I mean i didnt think they would get past the caps.

  16. I don't think you can say "amazing," but it was a great turn-around from being the worst team in the league (#30) to one of the best (#6).  Yes, the Flyers may have lost to the Penguins 4-1 in the series (last game being 6-0 Penguins), but I think the Flyers were discouraged going over to Pittsburgh, as well as the fact that it was game 5, which is very important.  What can you expect from a team like Pittsburgh, where they have superstars, yet, the Flyers do not?

  17. No matter what I say, they certainly exceeded my expectations. I did, however, predict a second place finish in the Atlantic and 4th in the conference, but the surprise was in getting past Montreal.

I analyze my teams not as a fan but more like an owner. If I seem harsh, its because I put away my homer-vision goggles to see things in the truest light. That said, I was troubled by an annoying habit of taking the 3rd period off before the 10th game of the regular season.

At that point of the schedule, I stated that their lack of discipline in the last period is going to bite them in the (tail). While the sum of their ousting from the playoffs is made up of much more than that, a similar pattern showed itself through the series with the Caps and Pens, while the Montreal series was an anomaly.

In all honesty, it seems to me that the Habs had more to do with them losing the series than the Flyers had in winning it. Carey Price and the Canadiens defense just wasn't what they needed in order to advance.

So, I tend to look at seasons in black and white. No championship means an unsuccessful season to me. While many Wachovia Center regulars may be impressed with all those pretty banners hanging from the rafters, I see only two up there that mean anything.

The only constant in life is change. But in the Flyers universe, everything stays the same. Regular season wonders, playoff pretenders.

  18. The Flyers showed a lot of grit & determination & beat two decent teams to get to the Eastern finals.

PS: Don't forget that the Pens were one of the worst teams in the NHL two years ago.

  19. oh yeah for sure... same with the Canadiens too! they both came back and had great seasons! I can see either 1 of them hoisting the cup next year. then again hockey is pretty unpredictible and anything can happen!

Crosby could get injured in a car crash breaking every bone in his body right b4 the Stanley Cup Finals. what if the whole team was in the car? see anything can happen.

  20. I could not be happier with the Flyers unless they won the Stanley Cup. Though there were tough times this season (such as the 10 game losing streak) they have shown ALOT of heart late in the season and knocked off the #1 and the #3  seeds in the playoffs when every "expert" predicted that they would fail. GREAT SEASON FLYERS!!

  21. They had an amazing season if you compare to last year. But I think they were far from an amazing team.

They had 2 easy rounds of the playoffs IMO (2 non-cup contenders), and they had to battle those. They were a solid team, but not Amazing.

Depends on what they do in the offseason, but I don't see them getting significantly better if they don't upgrade somewhere.
