Would you allow your male friend to dye your hair using permanent dye?

I recently bought this hair dye:

I was planning on doing it myself, but a friend was saying it is best to have someone else do it so they can get all the bits of hair, like right at the back of the neck and behind the ears.

I asked my Mum but she didn't want to do it in case it went wrong, she tried highlighting my hair before and she had to stop half way, phone her friend, leave my hair half highlighted, then go outside because the smell "got to her". By that point I had seriously blond highlights on one side, but not the other!

My 3 closest friends that I trust doing my hair are all on holiday and won't be back for another few weeks. I have other friends but wouldn't want them dying my hair!

My male friend who I am quite close to said he wouldn't mind doing it for me, but I really don't know if I should let someone with such limited hair knowledge come near me with permanent hair dye!!

What would you do?

I could wait for my friends to come back, but I am going on a mini-holiday myself and currently hate my hair colour!

Thanks.

  1. If your dying all your hair, then what can go wrong, not like he's trying to cut it or anything is it? I would. I mean c'mon ive let my dad permenantly dye my hair before, and that came out fine so your male friend will do it fine. Just make sure he knows if he does something wrong you will make him infertile.

  2. i would

just explain to him how you want it done

  3. If you trust him, go for it. My female friend did my hair and the only knowledge she had was her own bad experiences of dying it alone. It's definitely better to have someone else do it, if you ask me.

  4. yep i would because you can mix the dye yourself and the instructions are very detailed and just make sure he covers every piece of hair with the dye. nothing should go wrong, well nothing that is induced my your friend, just do a strand test and leave the dye on for the relevant time. good luck x

  5. just let him do it

hes willing to try and he would probably try hard since you are quite close to him.

    so go for it.

just tell him if he messes up he has to pay to get your hair fixed professionally

  6. to tell you the truth never use hair dye that you can just pick up from any store. go to the hair salon and get your hair dresser to do it professionally. and never use permanent hair dye because after dying your hair u might want to change it. so personally i say to get it professionally done (it might cost u a little)!

  7. Yeah let him do it for you, my husband dyes mine every time now, no probs.

  8. Just go to a salon.

  9. Unless your hair is very very long, do it your self. I used to dye my hair and every time I involved someone else it turned into a disaster!

You can use a mirrior to see the back anyway!

  10. god your only throwing in a colour just follow the instructions pure simple and get him to comb it through your hair when its all on if your hair is thick and pile it up then on your head make sure you leave it on for the time stated only and put it all on quickly

  11. i think you should trust your friend to do it..if it goes wrong, it goes wrong..just buy another colour and do it again...its only hair at the end of the day.

go thru the steps with your friend of how to do it... i always do my mums for her...

tell him to cover the roots first (from the roots near ur face, towards the bottom, then work it in until all the hair is covered *if you have a lot of hair you should prbs buy 2 bottles instead* n then do the ends...i always find it easiest this way.  if you tell him that then he cant go wrong.

make sure that you put some kind of barrier cream..like vaseline around the skin and ears near your hair so if ur friend does go over the edges and it stains, it will come off much easier.

just trust him... js cos hes a guy dont mean hel eff up! some of the best hairdressers in the world are men:)

    x

  12. Let him do it......My husband does mine ....I mix the stuff and he applies it....what can go wrong.
