If they hadn't celebrated your 10th, 12th, and 13th birthday? Because my parents, did just that. And this Saturday, I'll be 14. And woop dee doo. Do you think they've even done anything? No. My 10th, I understand, I mean, there was a hurricane that whole 2 weeks (Charley Frances Ivan Jeanne) but my 12th and 13th? No excuses. Oh wait, unless if you consider "We're too busy." or "We've got work" as an excuse. And no, I'm not being selfish, because my parents? They don't work much. I'm serious. So what've I been doing for the past two birthdays? Oh nothing. Sat at home/school and did something boring and alone. So I confronted my parents, asking them why they haven't done a thing and they're like "Ohh, we were planning to like you to the movies with some friends." Well I thought after two years, I'd take whatever I'd get. Guess what? Tomorrow they've scheduled some surgery for my grandmother (shes getting some scar removed... not a big thing). Yeah, TOMORROW. As in the day before my birthday. And hey, guess who's on demand for the next week? My parents. So would you be dissapointed in them? Because I am. Severly. They raise my hopes, as usual, and then shove them down my throat all over again. What would you do?

  1. I'm gonna give you some advice, it works for me:

Always expect the worst in everybody.

You won't get your hopes destroyed. And, if they come out with the best, you'll be twice as happy.

Personally I hate birthday parties. But hey, I'm an Aspie (mild autism).

  2. Aww man.

I'm sorry.... I would be disappointed too.

    I understand how you feel.

I wish all of us (McR fans on Y!A) could go celebrate your B-Day with you!!

If I were you, I would get together with my friends.

I would invite them over for a small party :)

    I really don't know...

But I'm really sorry you can't celebrate your birthday like you wanted.

    HAPPY EARLY 14TH BIRTHDAY!! ♥

  3. my past experience won't let me care. my parents made my parties a living nightmare

  4. WOW. That sucks, big time. Geez, do they even no how old you are? But hey, its your day. Its obvious that they don't have anything planned. So, you do whatever you feel like doing and don't feel guilty about it because its their loss.

P.S. - Im not encouraging you to have s*x, do drugs, or drink. Im just saying you should have a nice time w/ your friends or by yourself.

  5. That really sucks.

What I would do is arange a day, it could be in a month or in a week, that neither of your parents are busy and maybe get their promise in writing not to be busy that day. (that works for my parents) and you could spend that day together, maybe make or buy a cake, play games or do things yo like to do, maybe a trip to the local pool, or a bike ride, these are justmy ideas. If your parents find it fun, maybe they'll want to do it again next year.

    Hope I help

  6. happy birthday!! but don't worry i don't get parties that much because my parents can't afford so i only get a cupcake for my birthday with a candle lol.

i'm sorry about your parents but you can still have fun without a party =]

just listen to my chemical romance, talk to your friends, make a mini party in your room, invite friend's over!

  7. i would be pissed

  8. hah yours sound like mine with my little brother. they havent thrown him a party since like 4 years ago, they have family parties but no friend parties. they love him just as much they just never really get into it because i have such big parties all the time since im in high school and my friends come over to my house to hang. so he gets gipped. do you have sibblings? maybe thats why? idunno.

talk to them, let em know you wanna party :D

  9. idk i don't feel like reading, make life easier, will ya?

  10. I would be too. i would seriously go and tell soem of your freinds and just escape from them the whole day.  Go on a bike ride w/ some buds and go out to eat. I know if my parents didnt do that i would be severly dissipointed.

  11. im sorry. just do something with ur friends and ur cousins or other family?

  12. I'm sorry they aren't doing anything for your birthday, take matters into your own hands. Ask if you could invite a few friends over and celebrate your birthday with them. Do your parents at least get you a gift? If they get you a gift then I wouldn't be too upset if I were you but if they skip your birthday entirely then that's something to confront them about.

  13. I totally know how you feel, I'd be angry too! My mom only works three days a week (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,) and she always pulls that "Oh, I'm so tired" c**p. I mean yeah she works 12 hour ships, but that doesn't explain why she's "so tired" on Thursday, when she's been off for 4 days. Nobody in my house acknowledges my birthday (besides a "Happy Birthday" in the morning). Last year, I didn't even get cake until the week after! I've never had a birthday party (not counting when I was like 3 years old.) I know how you feel.

    P.S. I just turned 14 on August 21st, and Happy Birthday! :P
