  1. socialism is better

    learn the difference

  2. The best example of the flaws of communism is George Orwell's "Animal Farm".  Even before Napoleon completely took over, there were inequalities among the animals; even under Snowball, the pigs took all of the apples and milk for themselves.

Several nations have dumped communism for democracy, none have dumped democracy for communism.

  3. i would go for soft Socialist...

Socialism will give every citizen its right

  4. Well if Obama becomes President, you will get a mixture of both since he is a socialist in Democratic clothing.

  5. AGAINST!!!!!!!!  I would like to keep what I bust my @SS to earn. The big oppressive government steals to much of it now. Then gives it to some dead beat loser.

  6. i see faults in both forms of government, but if you think about it, we're not fully a democratic country.. we're forced to pay taxes

  7. for because everyone would be equal and there'd be no social injustice

  8. Democracy. You can't beat freedom.

Communism is flawed, as history has shown with the collapse of the USSR. Communism is also almost always assossiated with mass genocide and death. Take Mao for example, who alone, was the reason that 70 million + people died. Communism puts the power into the hands of a few and the unarmed populous has no say in the way the government runs, and they even have no say in their own personal lives.

  9. I think Communism is a nice concept but I really don't think it works in practice. Plus I don't think it's really fair, if I were a doctor, I wouldn't want to earn the same wage as someone who was less qualified than me. Plus I like being in a democracy. I like having the freedom to vote for whoever I want, I like that people can strive to be successful on the basis of income. Though I do in part agree with, for example, Karl Marx's views (in particular those on religion), it's just not a sustainable concept. I think it goes against nature in a way. Everyone has to fend for themselves. That's not to say that I regard Communism as a 'threat', it's just a very flawed theory which wouldn't aid civilisation in progressing.

  10. If we were a communist country there would be no hope of ever rising above your current situation in life, you could not provide a better life for your children even if you wanted to. They would be forced to live exactly like you are.

Government would decide what their occupation would be and pretty much else what they do with their life. Plus there would be no freedom of speech or basically any other freedoms for that matter. Everybody is equally poor, if that's what you want for your life.

    Capitalism is basically the opposite.

  11. Against, it doesn't work, there will always be those who rise to the top(normally those in charge of setting the laws) and live the nice life, whilst the general public pay for that and don't live such a nice life.

Democracy is supposed to give all the chance to rise, however in reality its not so easy, and its always not what you know but who you know.  However, at least the general population has a say and does get the chance to do better and improve their lot.

This is just my take on life after 40+ years and seeing a bit of the world.

  12. I served in the AF to fight communism during the cold war and have had to continue that fight against liberals and their socialism to this very day.

  13. Show me one example where  Communism has ever been good for the People.

Communism is Dictatorship and should have no place anywhere in the world.

    Ingrid

  14. i would be able to decide actually.

on one hand its not fair that people who work all the hours that god sends still struggle to make ends meet while some rich people can just live off their inheritance etc.

but then again....what happens when people think.. ok well im getting everything equal and free whether i work or not so i might as well not work...

i would hate to pay taxes for everyone to sit on their bumholes all day! (i know a HUGE majority of the population does this anyways...)

so yeah aint got a bloody clue.

    how about you?

    x

  15. Democratic, but far less capitalist then society is like today.

  16. Democratic, that's why I vote Republican

  17. uhhh? I believe several people answered this question intelligently. What's not to understand?

  18. Communism is an economic system.  Democracy is a political system.  Apples and oranges.

  19. AGAINST.

    i'm a fan of freedom.

NO ONE will control my every move.

if i was in charge of the world i would let the people govern themselves!

absolute power corrupts absolutely. i don't want to be corrupted.

  20. Communism, as an ideal, is a wonderful thing.  It is neat and tidy,  Ambition and jealousy do not exist.  People are never in want for more, or are too afraid to ever point out problems.

I believe there will eventually come a time in which the system could be viable  However, economically, that time is far far in the future.

  21. Geniepip is right, one is an economic system and the other is a political system.  That said communism doesn't work.  Everywhere that it has been tried it has failed.  Whether it was implemented as full blown communism or watered down to socialism it has failed.   Even in China.  China has a economic system that is a modified version of capitalism.  The government has a large degree of control over everything, but they learned from years of failure that communism didn't work.  So they started implementing capitalism.

Why doesn't it work?  Because in a communist society there is no motivation  to be productive.  Why work your *** off so that someone else has a better life style.  I don't think any of you can honestly say that if you were told tomorrow that everyone was going to be paid exactly the same regardless of how much or what kind of work they did, that you would continue to put in the same effort.  Communism goes against human nature.   It is natural and normal to be more concerned about you and yours.

  22. Communism sucks ! It only works for about 10 % of the people. The other 90 % are underlings. I've been to China, and Cuba.Humans can adapt to almost any situation, but they dont have the freedom to make important choices in Totalitary Gov. systems.

  23. "...from each ACCORDING TO  their ability, to each ACCORDING TO their need..."   Karl Marx

This is the best answer for those who believe that "...in a communist society there is no motivation to be productive..." Of course, THERE IS. Besides, the USSR was NOT a communist society. Stalinism is not communism, but totalitarianism.

Is it logical to believe that Capitalism is an ETERNAL economic system? Really?? Isn´t that an utopian idea??

  24. Well we have seen how well the idea of trying to create communism works.

  25. Democratic

I believe that people should be able to choose their own leaders, and what type of economic system they want.

If the people wnat socialism I think they should have the right to have a socialist economic system.  If they choose to change from that.. It hink they collectively have the right to do that.

But they should have the choice, reguardless, in my opinion.

Democracy brings the people first... and it ensures flexibility of the country in terms of policy.. nad I think that's important for a nation to remain healthy.

  26. I am for freedom.I have seen communism at work when I was stationed in Germany in the early 80's.It didn't seem to be any fun,for the people.I went on a tour down to an area that was very close to the wall,or fences. They had gun towers, and mean very big Shepard's running the fence line to prevent escape. No body in the cities had more than anyone else. There were no children playing outside, nor did I see any children in the 3 hour tour.Man,I love America and the way we have it,I'll stick to Democracy.
