My mother had to have my brother by c section and it took her a long time to wake up. when she woke up she found that the doctors had put her baby on another womens breast since she was unconcious and was not able to feed him. This was 25 years ago but she just told me the story and I feel so sorry for her because I would have been heart broken if my daughter was given her first feed by a stranger. Do you think this is right? they did not have consent to do this and my mother was very pissed off about it but never complained!

  1. ppl do donate breast milk nowadays but puttin the child on someone elses breast without consent i think is jus wrong, not the fact that they did it, but that they did it without ur mothers consent...

  2. that's alright the dr must know that the other lady is perfectly healthy to feed the baby they cant make stupid decision i know that,s annoying but its ok after all ur baby got the natural immunization if i were u i would be uncomfortable with that but later on i,ll be fine so jus try to forget it its not that big deal.....

    GOOD LUCK

  3. oh my! that is awful! i cannot believe that they would do that without your mothers consent.

  4. heckk no thats definately not right

that other lady could have diseases or whatnot.

    i would have definately complained.

    thats horrible.

why couldnt the baby still be fed by her? i mean why does she have to be concious lol. ive never really asked that kinda thing so its probably a stupid question if people were there to help him lay there why couldnt she feed him?

  5. yes i a gree with that

  6. That's horrible!-I would have gone mad-Whether or not they did it with good intentions, its none of their business!

  7. Absolutely not! I made the decision in my sons first week to use a milk bank because I could not produce enough milk to sustain him at first, but that was MY DECISION!! How awful to have that choice made for you! Babies do not need to eat for 24 hours so there was no reason to do this. As for the other mother being generous, maybe so, but what right did she have to put someone else's baby to her breast without moms consent? Eww.

  8. That's absolutely horrible! The other woman could have been a alcoholic or a smoker during pregnancy! Who knows what's in her breast milk? Ew gross!! I would have been absolutely furios. She didn't really NEED to be concious anyways!

  9. Nothing was lost, no one was hurt, and it was best for the baby.

What about the woman who agreed to feed that baby until her own  momma could?  She was in the maternity ward and was lactating, so you have to figure she either had a new baby of her own...or she didn't.  Either way it was a kind and generous thing to do.

  10. I would have felt so guilty (today), but I'm sure the hospital staff only meant the best at that time. There used to be wet nurses at one time which was very normal. She should just be happy that everything went well, and she gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby.

It would have been worse to give formula to the baby just because you mother wanted to breastfeed. Sometimes nurses overfeed the baby with formula. Babies don't even really need to be fed the first 24hrs.

  11. She should try to look at it positively and think how lucky the baby was to have had breast milk available and asa first meal etc.

Milk banks are still used these days as nothing beats the real thing. She needs to move on from this.

  12. It's not the first time I've heard of this happening and it is horrible to even consider it happening to your baby. I would be really upset if it happened to me.

  13. That was some time ago. Something similar happenedd to me, i was in severe pain, due to a pain killer malfunction after my c-section and couldn't feed my son oliver, what they did is have daddy finder feed him with formula. It did make for a rough start in breastfeeding but he got the hang of it. I think if that did happen i would be extremely upset. I would've done more than complain.

  14. That is totally wrong.I just had my son a month ago and i would of been furious. HOw could the doctors make a choice like that for her.Especially on another breast. Maybe if the breast milk would of been pumped out and bottle fed thats different. Poor baby needs to eat. But not from another womens breast.

  15. She needs to get over herself and think about what was in the best interest of the baby.

  16. What the...???

YEs, I would definitely be upset with that.

Certainly not 25 years ago, but my son was born via C section and they just gave him formula!!
