i quit my job recently and today is friday, my last paycheck. i usually get paid by direct deposit, and the money wasnt in my bank today. I got worried and called them, they said my last paycheck is processed manually so i have to go to head office. I TOLD THE PAYROLL LADY I WAS COMING TODAY, RIGHT NOW. and she said "Ok sure, great"

travelled all the way across downtown, 45 mins on the subway, half an hour on the bus, and walk another 15 mins under the scorching sun. breathed in probably 2 tons of dust, air pollution from the downtown core, not to mention $10 bus fare. went all the way there, waited in the office for 20 minutes and the reception lady got a call, then told me the payroll lady left and wont be back for the rest of the day (it was only 1pm at the time), and told me to come back ON MONDAY.

great, went ALL the way back. thanks for nothin. $10 bus fare, gone. energy for the day, gone. lungs, damaged from the polluted downtown air. and all of that, for NOTHING

have to do it again on monday.

  1. Everytime you're upset, put yourself in the other person's shoes. You have a right to be upset at the situation, but you don't know why the lady left. For all you know her mother could have died. (I know that's an extreme example, but you get my point, right?)

I know it's probably the last thing you want to hear, but you may end up happier if you look at the world that way, You never know.

I'm sorry you had a bad day though. :/

  2. lulz

    Ya I'd be pretty pissed

  3. I am fairly certain that by law they had to pay you on the next pay day after separation.  Check on it for future reference... or complaining when you go in Monday.  Yes, I'd be very pissed.

  4. get a receipt and tell the woman she owes you $10.

if she refuses talk to her supervisor.

either she's rude or they are playing games with you cuz you don't work for them.

if they don't pay you, write a letter to the president of the Company and explain your situation.

  5. I would NOT have liked what happened either.

Maybe it is their way of "getting back" at you.  Did you leave the company under good terms or leave them in a pinch with no one to do your job?

or maybe the payroll person had an emergency.  You can't know which ~so behave when you go back for your check.  These people will be giving you a reference when you apply for another job.

  6. well i totally agree with you i would be very mad

but since you cannot do anything about it now,

i would try to enjoy the rest of the day.

also on Monday i would tell the payroll lady how

upset you were and ask why she said ok to come and then was not there.

take care and know what goes around comes around.

  7. I have a bad temper, and that makes pisses me off just reading bout how stupid ppl r..
