Would you be too embarrassed to go through people's garbage to collect aluminum cans to sell at .82¢/lb.?

I just sold 69 lbs. at .82¢ per pound and it only took me one week to collect all those cans. Pretty good, eh? So, would you be too embarrassed to do that?

well at least you are not doing anything wrong....this is great.you are doing a good job,and at the same time recycling good for you keep up the good job...I would do it and not be embarrassed , cause in the end you are the one who get's the money..so ha.ha. to everyone else..

If it wasn't a federal offense in michigan to go through someones garbage to get aluminum cans, sure I would. That can make you good money, as long as your not driving all around to do this and spend all the profits in gas.

Absolutely not. With today's high prices for everything, you've just found a way to offset the cost of inflation. I'm constantly looking for ways to save or supplement my income with a little added cash. It also helps the recycling effort....and it does'nt hurt to reap the benifit of someone else's laziness.

No I would not be too embarrassed. I used to do that in NY at the Western Beef supermarket they use to pay 0.05 per can. I can't find any of those recycling machines here in Pennsylvania though.

Maybe a little embarrassed. Why don't you ask the people to separate the cans and save them for you? You could even buy trash bags for ones that agree to help.

You mean they don' t have a recycling program in your neighborhood?  Do the environmental police know about this?  Someone call Al Gore QUICK!?!

Nice profit for you.  I see people all the time on bicycles going into public dumpsters/trash cans in parks, beaches, etc.   We used to go around collecting newspapers for recycling.  I don't remember how much we got per 100  pounds, but we had a great time.
