  1. I think I'd rather spend the time working to earn more money to buy food. Gardening is very poor in terms of return for the time invested. (Especially if, like me, you have a knack of making plants die!)

    Think of the amount of fruit and vegetables you could buy if you worked a couple of hours at minimum wage.

    If you like gardening, then it would be a good hobby to grow some of your own food, but not otherwise.

  4. I would be quite willing to maintain one because besides saving money I find it interesting too.Unfortunately I cant do it as I live in an apartment.

  5. You are only saving a few dollars. So you need to quantify the time you are putting into your garden against the money you are saving.
