With all the tanking allegations, is this the sort of game you would have a bet on?? I reckon the Dees can knock the coasters over, should I put my hard earned on it???

I would bet only if I could have a dollar each way and refund if either team got more points from push throughs than from behinds.

regarding tanking: a few clubs have started to realise that recruitment of top school boys doesn't mean a star team in 3 years. There are exceptions, eg Judd, but there are more that don't make it despite being touted as the next best thing.

And how does it affect morale if the boy 1 year out of school and playing in his third AFL game against Geelong at the MCG is told to lose without looking like it? how confusing is that?

I think eagles will and our chances to keep our record of NEVER getting then wooden spoon in our 21 year history, just gets better and better :) eagles are not tanking, every one just expects they will always be at the top, like the recent years.. just because people are shocked their 15th, that doesn't  necessarily mean they are tanking! They have dropped there performance a lot this year but also have improved dramatically. Eagles have something to prove, that they are getting better for the future and can go back to their best.  Melbourne just have to prove that they can win a game.  Quiten Lynch said we are going into the game with confidence and we are very capable of coming out with a win. I also think eagles by 20! I would put your money on them.

Everyone has a big dance about the fact that carlton "tanked" but when other teams do it, they tend to hide it under the rug.

No I wouldn't. If West Coast were tanking then they would have lost against St Kilda and the Bombers. The definition of tanking is losing deliberately, and that's not what's happening there. If anyone's tanking, it's Port, what a shocking performance against the Blues!

Just for the record mate I reckon all these tanking allegations are a load of c**p, sure teams that have no chance of making the eight might blood younger players and try a few tactical and positional changes but, to suggest a club would deliberately lose thats just not on its footy not cricket

To answer your q though, no way would I bet on this match! Way too risky, betting on AFL is a good way to lose money. Low odds & too many upsets.

I would bet on Melbourne only due to the fact that I hate all teams who are not based in Melbourne. Also Aaron Davey is my cousin.
