I'll make it more easy to understand

C.Ronaldo plays against Man Utd for Real Madrid

Theiry Henry plays against Arsenal for Barcelona

Steven Gerrard plays against Liverpool for Chelsea

Fernando Torres plays against Atletico Madrid for Liverpool

David Beckham plays against Man Utd for LA Galaxy

Frank Lampard plays against Chelsea for Inter Milan

etc

Question : What would you do ? Boo ? Applaud ? Give him a standing ovation ?

Being an Arsenal fan, I wouldn't boo anyone, unless it was some tw*t like Ashley Cole :):):)

Who here remembers, when Freddie Ljungberg limped off the pitch(picking up an injury) at the Emirates last season in their 2-0 loss? Arsenal fans chanted his name and everyone gave him a standing ovation. That was an amazing reception he got, I don't think any Arsenal fan would ever boo players like that(Henry, Ljungberg, etc)

  1. Only by looking at the circumstance the player left the club.

Yeah... especially players like Ashley Cole.... that kinda players...

  2. Michael Owen got it when he came to Anfield.

  3. I would never boo Frank, or any other Chelsea player if they left us for football aspirations only and not money.

  4. I have booed Assley Hole, but not anybody else. When Viera came over for Dennis testimonial I felt he was going to stay and he got a great reception. How could one boo Freddie or Thierry?

  5. I would never boo a player who did alot for my team.

  6. There are exceptions to the rule,   for example if a player joins an arch rival club without appeasing his former clubs supporters (i.e he left for money,  or fall out with manager at club)  then the jeering and booing will CERTAINLY be there.

It does depend on the maturity of the supporters, theres two types in general - mature ones and diehard ones lol

its not that easy to answer your question,  sighs.

imagine if Robbie Folwer had left Liverpool in the 90s to join Everton or Man United.   He'd have forever been villified.

likewise, imagine if Eric Cantona left Man United and then joined Arsenal.  Unthinkables lol.

I think its pathetic and stupid to boo ex players,  thats really is the bottom of it.  Those who boo players should be identified and thrown out of games.

  7. It depends on how much I like the player. I would keep quiet if Henry scores against Arsenal!

  8. I always go for the club rather than for the player. So I don't think so. Players change, come and go, but when you love a club, that's something only you yorself can change.

  9. I'd boo both C. Ronaldo and Beckham. I can't stand Real Madrid and secondly I'm a MANCHESTER UNITED fan. I don't follow the footballers after they leave, I stick with my club through the good and bad times!

  10. i wouldnt boo a legend

  11. Henrik Larsson played against Celtic for Barcelona and he got a standing ovation!

I'm also an Arsenal fan and if Henry came back to play against us i would hope he would get the same. (with you on Ashley Cole though)

  12. Hmm tbh I would boo him if he left in a manner such as Ashley did. About the only time I would.

If Kakà leaves from Man City I will boo him and shout obscenities :D

  13. No I wouldn't boo them.  I think its absolutely stupid if anyone says or does otherwise.  I'm a fan of the club, not any particular player.

First of all, I will say this once again, its a JOB to the players, you'd leave your current job for a better job too.

Second, I absolutely f*cking hate it when fans start questioning player loyalty to the club, when they should in fact be questioning the club's loyalty to the players!  The club will let a player go when they feel like it, yet nobody says a d**n thing, but when a player wants to leave a club, the fans start crying "Oh you want to leave the club that made you who you are blah blah blah".

In the case of C. Ronaldo, it seems the opposite, that Ronaldo has made the club what it is.  I mean look, they can't even win a freaking game without him LMAO.

I'll give this example again, two seasons ago Hernan Crespo was Inter's best striker.  last season he was largely relegated to the bench.  Yet no one cried out or lashed out at the club.

Ronaldo last season was ManU's best player.  Then he says he wants to leave.  There's a complete backlash against him from the ManU fans.

You see anything wrong with this?  Why is it OK for the club to treat players like a piece of meat, but it is not OK for a player to want to move on at the peak of his career?

  14. For me, it would depend on why they left the club or their attitude when they leave the club.

Being an Arsenal fan too, i'll never boo players like henry, viera, or ljungberg, lehmann etc. they have done a lot for our team.

on the other hand, i hate players like ashley cole who had been a total a**hole when he left arsenal. i dun really like flamini n hleb too.. think they left arsenal just 'cause of money. so think i might boo them if they ever play against us..

i dont really like gallas too, who said he'll score an own goal at chelsea if chelsea didnt let him go. hate players like these, would definitely boo him if i were a chelsea fan..
