I have recently received a nominee allotment letter asking if I wish to buy a further 335 Bradford and Bingley shares for £184.25.

Would you recommend investing in this?

  1. They are very risky now, but the potential profit is great. Go for them, but do not use more than 5% of your money on them..

  2. personally -  for long term investment -  yes.

  3. Go for it.

  4. Absolutely not. The fact that they have had to overhaul their Rights Issue plan three times tells you something. They have too much exposure to the Buy-to-let market and nobody looks interested in buying them.

If you are interested in investing in the financial sector long term, you may like to consider RBS who were first out of the gate, and have secured 12 billion in funding, or Lloyds TSB, a good outifit, who look like doing an Alliance and Leicester and may be taken over.

Disclosure: I am an RBS shareholder.

  5. Certainly, for a long term investment.
