Question:

Would you buy a 1st Generation iPhone from your co-worker?

(Forgive me for putting this question here, no other room answers questions other than Etiquette?! LOL)

Co-Worker of mine is trying to sell hers because she's "over it" and done with AT&T. Cost: $100.00 There isn't anything wrong with phone, she wants to switch over to Sprint and is finished playing with the phone. I'm thinking $100 is a great deal?!

I want a 3g, but have been kicking around the plans and junk. I am currently with sprint and my contract will be up in 3 weeks. If I stay with Sprint, I could score a NEW Blackberry curve for $149.00 and keep my sweet customized plan.

But I've been sucked into the iPhone hype, and kind of want one...

Is buying her gently used 1st Gen. iPhone worth it???

Please give me your two cents?!

  1. Honestly I have had people who have had bad experiences with the IPhone, and the 3G. AT&T is great only for worldwide travel. Other than that service sucks.

There has to be something more than "she's over it" to sell a phone that cheaply.

Stick with Sprint. Get a NEW phone!

  2. NO, I don't trust pre-used goods. Wait for about 6 months before getting a new one.

  3. no....

  4. I've heard such bad things about the first generation I-phones, that I cannot recommend you get one based on that.

Also, if you have a great plan, stick with it.  A mobile plan that "fits" you is a rare thing.  If you'd like a fancy phone, get the new Blackberry.  It's got a much longer track record, and a good one at that.  I think you'll be happier in the long run avoiding the I-phone.  Besides, AT&T is an awful company with regard to service.  I've spent hours on hold with them only to NOT get my problem resolved.  I finally got digital phone through my cable provider.  Much better.

  5. I want one too...

A blackberry can't give me a "light saber" appy...enough said...

I would go for it.  All the cool people have iPhones.  Do it.

Honestly, I don't know what else to say.  I think it's pretty obvious.  You need an iPhone.  So do I.  You could have a totally awesome iPhone, or a "sweet customized plan" - the ladies will see your iPhone, no one but you cares about your plan...Your "sweet customized plan" doesn't have light saber capabilities.
