  1. take it to a machanic to be checked out

  2. See if they have any pictures of it while it was damaged. Also, take it to a mechanic. If it checks out then, I'd say go for it.. I give you props for being brave enough to be seen in a butt ugly Monte Carlo.. gosh those cars are nasty.

  3. It's a reconstruction title. Vo-Techs are just learning but that's O.K. Reconstruction means it's had some extensive damage and cars are just never quite the same. By extensive I mean chassis damage. Does it drive straight? How bad was the damage? I'm sure they have before and after pictures. Is their school equipped with a frame straightener? Was the font clip and under carrage taken off and replaced with another? Was it a rearender? Too many questions for me to go on. Too risky for me.

  4. Don't do it. An R title means there was extensive damage done to the car. And no matter how well it was put back together, it will never run right. You'll have safety issues, body panel problems, suspension problems, mechanical problems and who know what else.

There's a reason for having a law that requires this kind of disclosure. It's to warn you of how badly the car was damaged. And even if you can get it for $7000, how much more will you have to put into it and still never be satisfied?

You can't trade it in. No reputable dealer will take an R titled car in trade. There's just way too much liability that goes with it. So you'll have to sell it yourself. Good luck. You'll probably get offers of $1000 to $2000 from private parties once they see the R title.

  5. It depends what was the reason for the rebuilt. If it was something that will not cause problems, like the seats being burnt and replaced, versus something that could cause problems, like under the hood, frame, under the body etc. Don't think of the low price upfront. Also, think of what you will have to spend when problems start showing up. especially since kids rebuilt it for a grade.

  6. A rebuilt car as probably been checked out very very thoroughly. (and I'd have it checked out too) I would not worry about it.  But because other people do not think the same as I do, you should realize that the resale value will be very low.  So , test it buy it and drive it for years.

  7. Buy it cheap, maintain it cheap and get rid of it soon. Don't fall in love with it. They sure didn't!!!

  8. I don't know what r tittle means but yea I think I would buy it.
