Would you buy a fire pit, and why?

people like sitting around fireplaces and fire pits, its gives them the chance to have gatherings, basically a small vacation at home, but why don't they have one?

YES, I have been looking around at different stores because I am going to purchase one soon. During the winter we get together with some family to have hot dog and marshmallow roast on the weekends and I have to say it is one of the best things to do. The family seems to relax and have a great  time talking about different things along with the kids.

One of the first things we did when we bought a house was put in a fire pit.  It's like going camping and still get to sleep in your own bed!

It is great to sit by the fire, but someone has to babysit the darn thing while everyone else moves along to other activities.  I'd still rather have one than not!

OK, need to go check on ours again from earlier tonight!

Yes we have one, honestly we don't use it nearly as much as we wish we did.  

Why don't people have one? cant afford it? don't have time? don't have room? don't like sitting by the fire? don't like smoke? some people don't like that Smokey smell, or having to deal with wood and all that.  or maybe there really just afraid of the dark? or vampires? there way too scared to be outside after dark?

If it were legal in my neighbourhood, I would. I would love to watch the flames dancing. I become mesmerized like when I watch fish swimming in a tank. My daughter and I came up with a word to describe what we do under these circumstances. We are TRANQUILLATING.

My family just put one in our back yard last month and it's great. Some places it's illegal as to why not. Plus some neighbours are annoyed with the smoke etc.

I was raised in main where my nearest  freind was 4 miles away and not have the social scene late night fire talk with some of uncle moonshine was the thing.   You dont spend a dime and you realy get to know your friend who doesnt put up a mask to impress the girls or prevent a fight.
