I'm looking for a wedding dress and can't find what I want at the stores here. So I thought I'd find one online. What do you think?

  1. I'd be a little leary, just because you can't try it on. You know when you go into a store and see something so "gorgeous" you have to have it? Then you go into the dressing room and it just isn't right...? That's what I would be afraid of, personally. Another thing to consider would be the different sizes that wedding gowns come in, hopefully they would have the measurements on the site, along with the usual size 4, 6, etc... Good luck! I hope you find what you are looking for! :)

  2. Hi.

I bought my wedding dress from Ebay and I love it.

It was made to order for my size and the colour I wanted and was under $AU200. It took 2 months to arrive, but is perfect in every way.

I know some people would be sketchy about buying one on-line but from my own experience, I would definitely recommend it

  3. look on line for stores in your area then you could plan a trip to see the dress.  I would not buy it on-line though

  4. I probably would because I consider myself to be fairly particular and I don't have enough patience to go store to store.  I recommend ordering it many, many months in advance in case something goes wrong.  I also recommend ordering it from a well-know chain that may also have a brick and mortar store.  However, if you are kind of daring you could try ordering a cheap designer knockoff from one of the Chinese online dealers.  I've heard that some are really good.  I just recommend that you do you homework before ordering.

  5. I never thought that I would buy my dress online, (because I never thought I could live with the fact that I spent $5,000 on a dress that I would only wear for ONE day)--BUT, I did, and I don't regret it.

I did my research. I tried it on (the right size and everything) at a bridal shop. I still did not want to buy it at that price. I cut out a picture of a Justina McCaffrey gown from a magazine, then I searched everywhere online for it. I tried Ebay, Craigslist, you name it. I accidently found www.preownedweddingdress.com and saw the same dress for $2,500. Okay, I could NOT pass this up. It was in my size and everything! When I got it, it fit so perfectly, I am astounded that I don't have any complaints.

Not only that, I needed a shorter, white dress for my reception, so I bought a 2nd dress from the site. Another perfect 10. I swear, all you need to do is make sure you know the right size (for the right brand, they are all different from each other) and order correctly. Use a credit card so it leaves a paper trail. Make sure the source is credible by contacting past customers/clients. All you need to do is research before you buy!!

  6. Yes, it will probably be easier online because there's a bigger selection and you can always find your size.

  7. i think it is ok,my friends got her dress from online china shop, and it is good.

    it is :http://www.cheap-wedding-gowns.com/

i checked this is for wedding dress:

  8. I bought mine off ebay from china. eep. I did my homework through and it looks like it's legit, and if it doesn't work out i've only lost $150!

What i did first through is go into bridal stores and try on heaps of dresses so that I could see what styles, lengths, shapes suited me, so I knew what i was buying wouldn't look awful.

    I say go for it.

  9. As the owner of a bridal salon, I can tell you what I encounter on a weekly basis from brides who order gowns online:

    1. Brides in tears because their gown did not show up.

    2. Fakes. Tons of fakes.

    3. Used, filthy gowns being sold as new with tags.

    4. Wrong sizes, colors, bad quality, late deliveries.

    5. Brides unable to find someone to alter their gowns- many salons will not alter a gown that was not purchased from them. Most independent seamstresses are affiliated with salons, and they won't do them either.

Most importantly- one of the larger parasitic sellers of bridal gowns has recently gone out of business for failing to deliver gowns. The "secret" is that the "other" site that sells the same gowns is owned by her COUSIN, who is also failing to deliver gowns. Both of them are hiding behind fake names, fake addresses, and fake phone numbers. Just try getting your money back after they have ripped you off.

Buying online is not worth it. For the few glowing reviews you hear from online buyers, there are hundreds with horror stories.

  10. Only if you tried on the same dress and size at a store. Otherwise a big fat NO!

  11. I would not, simply because if it doesnt fit, it may be hard to return, or expensive to alter.  Most bridal shops will do the altering a little cheaper if you bought the dress from them, but not if you just bring in a dress.  Plus, every wedding dress fits SOOO differently.  That is a really big risk, and I personally just wouldn't feel comfortable with that.  Good luck.

  14. Can you find a seamstress in your area who could custom make your wedding gown according to your specificatons?

A wedding gown is too special and too personal to order on-line, proceed with caution if you decide to go that route.
