I see that Walmart carries mushrooms produced in China, Communist Red China, where the people work for near slave wages and we have no idea what they use for fertilizer do we?

  1. I would prefer food produced in the USA, but it's becoming more difficult to find. Apparently, the wholesalers can have a greater mark-up. PS---- Few countries regulate agricultural insecticide usage the way the FDA does.

  2. No...  for the same reasons mentioned. Plus, I don't know under what conditions it's been grown, the cleanliness of the place it was processed or packaged, if they have any kind of FDA-type standards or what was used to fertilize it.

Not to mention the human-rights violations and under what conditions the workers suffer...to work for pennies per hour.

    So again, no...

  3. I live nearly on the Mexican border.  And I've just now noticed that nearly every food item in Wally World is from Mexico.  yes, it's cheaper than American grown food, canned food...but I've no idea what Mexicans use for fertilizer.  I don't want to know.

But to answer your question.  No, I would not buy Chinese grown food.  (I don't buy Mexican grown food either.  And that's difficult where I live)

  4. No!  I try to avoid buying anything from China.
