Would you buy the 1st generation iPhone if someone was trying to sell it for $100?

Co-Worker of mine is trying to sell hers because she's "over it" and done with AT&T. There isn't anything wrong with phone, she wants to switch over to Sprint and is finished playing with the phone.

I want a 3g, but have been kicking around the plans and junk. I am currently with sprint and my contract will be up in 3 weeks. If I stay with Sprint, I could score a NEW Blackberry curve for $149.00 and keep my sweet customized plan.

But I've been sucked into the iPhone hype, and kind of want one...

Is buying her gently used 1st Gen. iPhone worth it???

Please give me your two cents?!

  1. I would but why is it so cheap

  2. man, $100 is a heck of a deal. right now im trying to buy one for $200~$220 but i haven't found anyone yet. you can buy it and resell it on ebay for like $300 at least now i think.

  3. I sold my 1st gen iPhone for $350, and have seen many go for about the same price.  $100 is a great price.  The only reason I upgraded is because I knew I could sell my 1st gen. for the same price that I would pay for the new 3G.  The only benefits of the 3G are faster internet (not that big of a difference), being able to look stuff up online while talking to someone (can't with the 1st gen) and may GPS function, although I don't know if they are the same now, I didn't have my 1st gen. phone upgraded to the 2.0 software.  Hope this is of some help
