Would you buy the Bose Companion 5's?

I am thinking of getting a new speaker system for my Macbook Pro, I play games and watch movies on it all the time and have heard loads of mixed reviews about these speakers....yeah they are expensive but I have the money to buy them the question is - Are they really worth it?

I would not buy anything bose....they are absolute garbage. They've got good bass and good treble but no midrange and that's where most of the detail in music comes from.

You're better off getting a decent Yamaha or Onkyo receiver and some Paradigm speakers.

They are decent speakers, however their cost is way overpriced. Your spending a lot on the name. Their quality is like a good Honda Accord, yet they are priced like a Lexus. I would condsider others.

No. If you look around you should be able to find comparable speakers for about half the price of Bose.
