Say you found a deal with a $1300 dress on sale for $200 (and you loved it of course) but your wedding isnt for another 2 years... would you buy it?

  1. No. You may very well have changed your mind about it by then. About 8 months before the wedding is the time to start looking.

  2. No.  It would take up extra room in the closet, and what if I gained weight and/or liked a slightly different style 2 years later?

  3. Buy your dress 6 months to a year before your wedding. You mind may change within a year or a year and a half and then you're stuck with having to sell the dress.

  4. no because 1. i may not like it in 2 years and 2. i may be a completely different size.

wait 1 year to 6 months before the wedding

  5. No, definitely not.  You wouldn't believe how many 2 or even 3 dress brides there are out there.  Your idea of the wedding and even your style can change drastically over 2 years.  Plus, there will be new dresses coming out every season and, trust me, you are going to fall in love with something else.

I would suggest buying 6-8 months ahead of time (start looking around 8-10 months ahead).  Most designers need about 4-6 months to make the dress and then you need time for any alterations.

  6. I really would advise you not too. You never know what could happen in two years. You could find another dress you really love or your weight could change. Anything could happen. I would wait until at least 3 months before the wedding to get my dress.

  7. I'd say no because  2 years ago when I got engaged, I LOVED this dress. Then I saw and LOVED it. Then I saw it again and again and eventually I was like EWWW.... Why would I want this dress? The dress I bought 4 months before my wedding I LOVE and I don't have enough time to change my mind. Not only that, but the style could really go out of style fast. I would say buy one like 6 months before your wedding.

  8. No, because it is way too early, you may see something new in the wedding magazines a year later that you fall in love with, it will take up so much room in your closet, and could possibly yellow if you live in a humid environment.

  9. hope this helps

  10. Please don't buy your wedding dress two years in advance because styles change.  Fashion is fickle.  What is fashionable today, might not be fashionable two years from now and then you would be stuck with having to sell a dated dress on ebay.  If you buy it now, you might spend the next two years doubting your decision.  Also, unless it is a vintage wedding dress, you really want a new dress to be fresh and after two years in the closest, no dress looks as fresh as the day that you fell in love with it.

  11. No I would never do that.

  12. No it would be way to early. I bought mine a little less that a year fromthe date and Itried it on 2 weeks ago and it does nto fit anymore. Im getting married August 2nd. I had to run out and find another dress to wear. I would start looking at about a year, then I would find what style and dress you like the most, go to ao boutique and look and try some on there ( keep all your options open), then at about 6 months before the wedding make your choice, and order. This leaves a bit of room if you need extra hems and things to be done. I hope this helps.

  13. Go ahead and buy it.  You'll kick yourself if you don't.  However, be ready to eat crow when you find something better 7 months before your wedding and too bad but you already have a dress.  I can't tell you how many young women buy a shirt or dress they absolutely have to have and 3 months later, are tired of it and throw it to the back of the closet.  However, I'm sure you are more mature and wouldn't do that.
