Would you call the cops?

Question

I took my children to the park today, about halfway through our time there a group of people came to the park, One lady about 30yrs old and about 8 teenage boys, and i heard them talk about rolling a joint, then they proceeded to roll one up and smoke it, they were about 100ft away, it was obvious what they were doing. I thought about calling the cops, but didn't, now i wonder if i did the right thing.

I would've called the cops. Not only did you witness illegal drug usage, but an adult was enabling minors and these people think it's OK to come to a public park where you take YOUR kids to do these dangerous activities.

But - don't feel bad that you didn't call the cops. It's a tough, awkward situation to be in.

i think it was edmund burke who said all that the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.  i really think this applies, when ordinary citizens stop taking a part in policing our society decay is sure to follow, you should absolutely have called the police

Yes, the right thing to do was to call the police but today, they're probably not even going to come out because the police feel that if the person wasn't selling or buying it then it's not worth the gas to even look. The only time the police really care is when it's a HUGE drug bust.

You should have called the cops. Would you want your child to go to that park alone with those people there?
