  1. the 50 free is good maybe about a second slow for your age but the 100 free you need to drop about 2-3 seconds..

    hope i helped!!

i'm on a team with people your age sooo.. ya thats how i would know also

also on the team with naval academy peoples..

  2. Oh my god yes! Thats extremely good! It almost seems like if you were that good, you'd know it...thats a AA or AAA time for Pacific Swimming. Which is really, really good. Good enough to win at a county club meet, and do fairly well at a state meet.

  3. That is really good =)

    Keep up the good work!

  4. Is the 23 a low 23 or a high 23?   A high 23 is good ... a low 23 is very good.

53 is OK ... however, if you're a 23 sprinter, then you should be able to go a low 51 or high 50.  To achieve that time, you need to be certain that you are very well warmed up and that your warm up ends close to your race.

After your start and your breakout, you MUST start to breathe every stroke cycle or alternate side breathe.  The air you breathe in on the first and second lengths does not get to your muscles until the second and third lengths.  So, if you don't breathe immediately, you'll be running out of air about 30 seconds later.

Secondly, you should go out on your first 25 at around 11.8 at your foot touch.  Then, as you swim work at making each following length a little bit faster.  So, the 2nd length will feel a little faster than the first ... the 3rd faster than the 2nd and the 4th length should be the fastest of all.  In practice or in warm-up, you should do some 25s off the blocks working at hitting 11.8 with breathing.  You should have an idea of what an 11.8 feels like.  Then, in the race, hold back a little extra as your excitement gives you a false feel.

Hold your breath for the last 1/2 length of your 4th length.  The air you breathe in does you no good as it won't hit your muscles until AFTER you've finished your race.

Slightly speed up BEFORE, not after each turn.  Do NOT slow down on the 3rd length thinking you'll be saving something for the 4th ... it does not work.

    Again, your 4 splits (foot touch at each 25) should be 11.8 + 13.0 + 13.0 + 13.0 = 50.8.  You can do it.

  5. I'm 14 and my times are:

    50 free - 24:21

    100 free - 52:65

    I'm a Junior Olympic Swimmer. :)
