when I was going to Killarney, I used the aa route planner to get there. my mother was driving and because of that it took us alot longer than the 4 hrs 20 mins to get there.

Donegal is in Northern Ireland, Kilarney and Kerry are southern about 3 to 4 hours from Dublin

From Dublin to Kerry is roughly around 4 hours, depending on how busy the  roads are and the speed you drive.

It is not near Donegal, Dublin is about 3 1/2 hours drive from Donegal and Kerry from Donegal would be over 6 hours drive.

I would also like to point out that Donegal, while in the NW of Ireland is most definitely NOT part of Northern Ireland, it's just that for some reason people down the country can't seem to get their heads around the 'North of the country as opposed to Northern Ireland' concept. I guess they're just a bit slow...

Last year I hopped on a train down to Kerry, took about 3 or 4 hours, this wasnt an express train or anything. But Kerry is just as far away from Donegal as it is from Dublin. Also there are no trains into Donegal, you'll have to get bus eireann Im afraid (5 or 6 hours from Dublin)
