By C.S. Scotkin

Steamy palms, weary fronds.

Frogs delight bromeliad pools.

long before the Sun

  1. Loved "Toadstools rise in my garden long before the Sun"

    Good morning, ma

  2. I like that it's short and to the point, but you can add more substance to it to make it more interesting, but this is a good start.

  3. I thought this was great. You are succinct and expressive.

However,I think there's a problem with the word bromeliad, in the second line. It is not a common word by any means, and you run the serious risk of losing your reader with it. In a longer work, it would not be such a problem, but for such a short piece it poses quite a threat.

  4. Whew, HOT!

We're enjoying the most perfect Labor Day weekend weather I can ever remember. Seems like it always rains at least one day.

    Lovely sauna morning to you!

  5. Sunny bright, coolish morn

    dewy grass invites

    paper boy's aim

    Sunday paper wet!

  6. PP: Do you know why I pulled you over, Ms. Scotkin?

    C: No, Sir, Officer.

PP: I've pulled you over because it is cruel and unusual punishment to write about tropical plants on or after Memorial Day Weekend.

    C: Huh?

PP: Are you aware that it will be 49 degrees in Warroad, Minnesota tomorrow?

    C: Huh?

PP: Please, be more carefree next time.
