"The Americans (4-0) may have been a little edgy when they got off the bus, but as they boarded it a few hours later, any nervousness had been replaced by smiles, laughter and a sense of relief."

It may sound okay if you are accustomed to listening to sloppy English, but give it a shot. See if you can polish this "t**d" of a sentence.
