I found my cat trying to catch a frog in my garden,it was only about an inch long. It seems uninjured. To my surprise two more turned up within minutes. They are now happy in my kids paddling pool. I put a couple of rocks in there so they can surface if needed. But what to do with them now? Abandon them to fate or make the effort. Does anyone know anything about frogs?

  1. It's not worth the effort to save a baby frog...

  2. as above really but i would loose the paddling pool if its filled with un treated tap water as the chlorine can hurt them. there great to have in your garden and in the wild but shouldnt be kept as pets

  3. Wild frogs appreciate your help, but they don't want to be pets. Having them around would be great, no mosquitoes!! Unless you live near a body of water, we are probably talking about toads. Giving them their freedom is not abandoning them to fate. Make sure they can get out of the wading pool and back in if they need too. You can soak clay planters in water and turn them upside down in your garden to encourage them to stay. dig a little hole on one side so they can move in. they will stay and keep your garden bug free!!

  4. I think it is always worth the effort to save the life of any sentient creature, and I think that any living thing that strives to seek out pleasurable states while avoiding unpleasurable ones demonstrates sentience.

As to what to do with them, as the other poster said, giving them their freedom would probably be the best thing.  You have already given these little guys a second chance on life.

  5. they may not b baby frogs since baby frogs= tadpoles. they could b a toad or a fully grown adult bcause while i was in florida i found a bunch of frogs (sure they were frogs since i caught them in a creek) they were about 2-3 cm long. and i didn't think that they would grow any bigger. i think u should let the frogs go somewhere the cats/dogs of the neighborhood can't find them. So u can know that u A did the right thing B released them into a safe enviroment C know they have plenty of food and D Can mate and infest ur neighborhood < joke
