  1. It depends on what the interval was, what the athlete's training base is like, what their season plan is/where they are in the season, how developed he/she is, etc.  For some 11 year olds, 30 x 100s is completely appropriate, for others it is tantamount to abuse.

Its hard to get at what you're asking.  If you're asking "Does doing this set make me hard core?" then the answer is 'not really'.  If you're asking "Will this make me a better swimmer?" the answer is possibly, but I think there may be better ways to do it (I don't know what the rest of your training is like).  If you want to know if your workout was overly difficult/inappropriate - talk to your coach

  2. Yes, its too much for 11 year old end of.

If your doing it stop it now or give the child more rest!

He will finish swimming if you do not be careful,

ive seen many girls who used to be amazing when they were swimming wth me at age 10-11

and now they have finished because they have been overworked.

He should be going 5-6 sessions a week.

  3. Yes! Yikes!

What pace time were they going at? It better not have been too quick. I might have even had trouble doing that and I was on the Canadian National team a while back.

Wow! Thats amazing for an 11 year old. But make sure no one is overworking themselves.
