Hello, I just did an interview via IM, strange, the co. is in NY, I'm in CA and the job would be Data Entry from Home, they email you instructions. They do direct deposit, however, they said they can only do this with Wellsfargo because this is the bank that the company uses which I know is not true, direct deposit works from any bank, he said he needed me to go open an account both Checking and Savings, he wanted me to leave right this minute and open an account, he said NOW, I said I can do it tomorrow, he said first thing in the morning, I said I couldn't until the afternoon when I get off work at my temp job. I looked up the company and they do have a website, looks ligit but still left me feeling like it's a scam. They guy I spoke with who IM'd me had a yahoo email address not a company email, the person who set it up also had a yahoo email. What do you think?

  1. Honey, you were bright enough to ask the question so I have to believe that you already know the answer.

Never give out personal info unless it is from a legit company ex: Lowes, Wal-mart, etc.

    Good Luck.

  2. definitely a scam. as soon as you opened those accounts they would have robbed you of every dime. if possible report them .

  3. I hope you didn't give these people your SSN yet. The company might really exist, but they sure don't work for it, or they and the company are scam artists.

With a bank account in your name and all the account number information they could destroy your identity. Report all this to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

  4. Of course this is a scam.  Looks like they want your identification info - social security number, address, date of birth, etc.  which you have to give to open a bank account and which they could get by your requesting direct deposit.  I would notify Wells Fargo that their banks are being used for this scam.  Then you ignore it!
