My friend is thinking of going private with her (PSW) personal support worker in Canada, I think it's a home worker in the states, she works for a business and would not take away from them but would offer extra time to clients. Right now the company she works for charges $28.00per hour she would charge $18.00/hr. She will be paying all of her taxes and giving receipts. Do you think this is a good idea?

  1. Yes.  We paid someone to stay nights with our 88 year old Aunt.  It wasn't nursing care but we wanted someone there if Aunty couldn't get out of bed or if she fell.

  2. Yes, there is a huge demand for this service and often (in the US) social services pays the bill, not the person receiving care.
