Question:

Would you disobey your parents because you really wanted something?

I was looking online for kittens in my area, because I really want a kitten. The thing is, my dad, and step-mom say 'no' because we already have four cats, and one of the cats stays downstairs the whole time anyways, so I never see her. Plus we have a dog, who's good with the cats, so he wouldn't be a problem.

Anyways, I found these kittens and I want one terribly! And the best thing is, they're free, and healthy, etc.

I know I could find a way to get the kitten and pick it up and bring it home without my dad and step-mom knowing since they both work.

But would you do it?

I know my step mom would fall in love with this kitten, and my dad would say yes if my step-mom does.

I'm turning sixteen soon, if that has anything to do with anything.

Would you buy the kitten (or anything else you REALLY wanted) even though your parents said no?

  1. If I wanted to risk the very large chance of being grounded for a long long time for willfully disobeying my parents, and having to ask around to find a new home for the kitten, then sure.  Go for it.

  2. I would get it, and I would just stay in my room, or away from the family until they finally catch on.

And the vet bills, do you have a job or can someone pay for them?

If you get this kitten without your parents approval, make a deal with them (after you get the kitten) that you'll take care of this one, like feeding, and the litter-box unless you already do that.

  3. do you have the monney? if so yes i would buy the kitten

  4. probaly yeah

  5. well maybe u should try to ask your parents if u can sell the cat in the basement cuz it doesnt do anything!

  6. I wouldn't hide it because you will be SO screwed if they some how find out but maybe you can say you found the kitten in a box that said free puppies. Say it was all alone and it was starting to rain so you brought it home. If they try and give it away or take it to the pound, tell them the kitten has become really attached to you and you don't want to take it to the pound because those places are horrible, especially for a kitten without a mommy.

  7. your 16 go for it i wouldnt but i would encorage you too but i would go and have a peircing with out my mums permision same thing exept i dont have 2 feed it lol

  8. Yup I would. I already have four cats too. And my mom said absolutley NO more cats when we only had 3, but i snuck in this kitten i found down the street, and we ended up keeping him! Just bring it home, and when your mom sees it she will be furious, but, if you BEG her to let you keep it for at least a week to see how it goes, you might be able to end up keeping it forever! But during that week you have to be really REALLY responsible for it. Good Luck!!!!

  9. There could be something wrong with the kitten so watch out for that.

Not to mention you'd have to pay for milk and a bottle to feed it if it's still tiny, food for when it gets older, buy those cat pads so it doesn't pee everywhere, a litterbox when it gets older, toys, and it'll probably meow a lot.

My sister snuck in two kittens a few months ago and we had to go through all that. My parents found out and let us keep them , but it's still a lot of work and money to spend.

  10. most likely.

  11. no, I'm a goody goodu

  12. you should always obey your parents... don't get the kittens now and tell your parents that you love them more than anything else... then the next time you want something they'll be on your side...

  13. Yes I have.  But usually it is something like a skirt or some movies or something.  Not a cat that people are going to have to take care of.

  14. not when it comes to a living creature because it takes a lot to maintain them. will you have it fixed, de-clawed, what about food? do you have the money for this?

  15. Maybe. But make sure you can pay yourself for food, veterinary bills (because it will definitely need them), and other things for the cat, don't expect your parents to. Also, you need to make sure you can give the cat back/give it to a friend if they aren't convinced. It's cruel to just abandon it.

Don't hold back on things like neutering and vaccinations, because it's important to do it. Owning a pet is expensive, and you need to make sure you can afford it.

  16. yeah

  17. Absolutely

  18. i have.

but that's not a good idea.

    she WILL find out

you WILL have to get rid of the kitten, and i'll bet you'll be heartbroken. i wouldn't buy the kitten.

  19. i would have a back up plan on someone who could take the kitten if your parents were still against it. but if you really thing once you got it then theyd go for it then go ahead.

  20. No, you should not because you live with your dad and step-mom that that is not your house!

    Their house = their rules.

When you have your own place you can have 10 cats if you like.

*** you could however try to talk to them into and show the pics and promise to buy the food and the things for the little box

  21. oh my gosh

    im just like you

    what I did was

    I told my mom I

"found a stray kitten in a bush" and then my mom felt bad and took it in

i would get the cat but then pretend to find it

    like i did :D
