  1. if it was TRUELY evil, yes i would disown them, and beat myself up every single day wondering where i went wrong!! I would probably do to them what they had done to others..

but I hope it would never come to that..

  2. I doubt a parent could ever disown their child, regardless of what 'evil' they did.

I am not a parent, yet I am the uncle of a beautiful little boy who was just born 3 weeks premature...

Looking at him now, I could never imagine turning my back on him, regardless!

  3. That is a question that requires some considerable thought i'll get back to you on this one.

  4. You on the chillum tonight? ;)

  5. I'm not sure but I'm 26 and my mother is still trying to get an abortion.

  6. i feel tremendous sympathy for ian huntleys mother. she has to visit him and support him

i would do the same for my son. i would be there for him whatever he did. but i would never condone his behaviour and he would alway know that i didnt

  7. Can you?Your child is a product of the upbringing you give him so as their parent it could be said you always bear some responsibility for how they turn out to some degree. For this reason I can't say for certain I could as I'd want to sort out that part of them I'd messed up on.If only to ensure it never happened again.I would of course abhor their action.I would imagine people in this position always love the child they were even though they dislike the evil person they grew to be.

I meant 'can one' rather than can you personally.

  8. depends what it was they had done

  9. I would hope that I would teach it the difference between right and wrong so it would never have to come to disowning anybody

but... no I would probably seperate and seek help by putting it into mental health institue or someother care or something where it can get help. I would do that I wouldn't disown it.

  10. evil is a very subjective word.

  11. Would disown the evil-would never disown my child-

  12. I think I would love my kids no matter what they did.  If they did something horrible then I would disapprove of their actions, would probably feel hurt and bewildered.  I would condemn their actions but I could never hate them and I would never give up on them.

But I guess that's easy for me to say as I've been very lucky with my kids.

I have seen families where the kids have gone bad, usually through drugs, and the despair of their parents is heartbreaking.  It starts with little things, a few thefts from a purse or pocket, then jewellery and valuables go missing, arguments start, violence starts and  the person you once loved is someone you don't even know.

I guess we really can't say how we would react until it happens to us.......
