Question:

Would you do an RN to BSN program online? Is it more convenient than actually going to take classes on campus?

I was looking at some RN to BSN programs and I just wanted to know if an online RN to BSN program would be a good idea or not.

  1. I am actually looking into that myself.  If you are the type of person that has the discipline to take online courses and keep up with the work then I say go for it.  Myself, I need to be in a classroom to learn so that is my best option.  But, if you need the convenience of online courses I say that it is a good idea for you.

    Good Luck!

  2. Be very careful about any on-line degree program.  While there are some valid ones, many more are unaccredited and will give you a degree that isn't worth the paper on which it's printed.

I would be especially leary of on-line degree programs for fields where there is usually an on-site, supervised component to the degree program, such as nursing.  Perhaps there is only academic work (and not clinic work) in going from the RN to the BSN.  I'm not sure.  If that's the case, there might be a valid on-linee program for it.

However, because nursing is so hands-on, I'd be diligent about checking out the credentials of the college offering the program.
