I REALLY like Harden, but I think I can get more for Santana. Abreu is old, but he's currently doing better than Guillen.

NYM trades Carlos Guillen, Det SS to Aluminum Bats

NYM trades Johan Santana, NYM SP to Aluminum Bats

AB trades Bobby Abreu, NYY RF to Mets

AB trades Rich Harden, Oak SP to Mets

Should I ask for more in order to get Santana? I mean Rich Harden cannot keep this pace up.

  1. I'd go with Harden and Abreu... Santana is streaky this year, Harden is a stud and Abreu has been healthy all year. hitting alot of HR's lately.

  2. I would stick with Harden. Santana has been pretty shakey as of late. He's giving up a lot of runs, homeruns. His strikeouts aren't up to par and his era is pretty high for him.

Harden is looking good. He's healthy, has a great whip, era. His strikeout to walk ratio is 3:1. He hasn't had a bad outing yet. Abreu is decent will give you a lot of rbi's. Stick with Harden and Abreu.

  3. Don't do it, Santana is inconsistent, even though he is a great name to have on the team Harden is doing well this year and Bobby Abreu is hitting HRs, and he is healthy, remember he won a Homerun Derby. Carlos Guillen is an ok player. Plus, Santana gives up way to many long balls.

  4. Should you ask for more to get Santana? Aren't you trading him away?

Well either way, the Guillen/Johan side is MUCH better. Abreu and Guillen to me a wash, especially when you consider the positional differences. Johan though is the best pitcher in the Majors while Harden is a huge injury  risk and could be out for the season before we know it. Take the Mets side.
