  1. In my experience the local shops charge more. Plus they have less choice and things that are or are about to go out of date!

  2. Supermarket every time.

Freshest food at lowest prices and best service.

The old fallacy about the personal service at local shops just doesnt hold water. The  local shops were ripping us off for years before the rise of the supermarkets and treating customers as if they should be grateful to be served.

Most local shops are now run by our "cultural enrichers".I wouldnt give them my money because it encourages more "cultural enriching".

  3. main shopping at a big supermarkey because theres more choice and better value.  but use local shop for the everyday things like milk etc

  4. i do at both as i believe in supporting the community, but my pocket can only support it so much, but i also shop at a super market price and choice, and i have contracts for supermarkets  so they invest back in to me! all is cool.

  5. I shop local for groceries and wholesale for household items.

Smith's, our local grocery store, has really good prices as compared to WalMart.  But WalMart is cheaper when you buy things like cleaner and hair products.

  6. Tescos because the choice is greater and the fresh produce fresher and also Tescos are alot cheaper .Costcutters who are they ???

  7. Has to be Asda every time - I dont have panic attacks shopping there by the time I get to the checkouts

  8. iamaguy beat me to it!

I get fruit and veg from a tiny little local shop and I have a proper Butcher for meats. It's far superior quality and only slightly more expensive plus I like to think I'm way too cool for a supermarket darling! lol!

  9. Big Supermarket it works out cheaper

  10. yes i would.

  11. If I lived close I might go to the local one more.

  12. big supermarket

  13. i do my monthly shop online at asda. i only ever use the local shop if i need something in a hurry or cigarettes

  14. big supermarket. i know its unfair to the small business but its cheaper!

  15. well I live 5 minutes from a 24 hour asda,I feel blessed!

smaller shops are too expensive, budget buffy demus.

  16. Big supermarket, tends to be cheaper, more choice of products and often fresher bread etc

  17. Shop around.

I get my veg from a local greengrocers and get cheaper fruit and veg than at the supermarket. I also dont have to deal with loads of excess packaging. Oh and it measn you only get in season produce and dont end up with stuff that has been frozen for six months or is so artificially produced it tastes like water! Meat on the whole is better from a local butcher as you can specify what cut you want and have the butcher work on the meat (removing bones etc).

That said, the supermarket is ideal for pretty much everything else and is always a good place to grab some bargains.

If you have a social conscience, use the smaller shops...you may well be surprised!
