Would you trust drinking it now or only if it were used for survival purposes? If you wouldn't drink it, why not? What's your concern?

  1. I would life or death Id drink potty water but I'd never eat another human

  2. It's gross.

    THAT's my concern.

You are what you eat AND drink !

And i don't want to be "potty water".

  3. No way that's gross! Chemically treated potty water can make you very sick i believe.

  4. Having had sold chemicals to water treatment plants, I can say that every drop of water that comes out of a tap from any municipal water source is potty water.  And that it has been filtered and treated and in some cases, irradiated, to the point that any bacteria still alive in that water will not hurt you in the slightest.

If you are concerned about your municipal water, call your water provider and ask for a copy of their latest water safety report.

  5. Nope-I'd try the old fashioned way first.  By BOILING it.  Now, if I couldn't do that-then I may consider it if it were an emergency situation.

  6. Treated sewage gets put back into waterways and is eventually taken up into drinking water plants, all fresh water is just recirculated. Drinking water standards are so high there is very little to worry about. Some places even have one building that treats sewage to drinking water standards.

And putting treated sewage on lawns is awesome for the grass, it would grow amazing.

Another thing that is often done is the biosolids from the sewage plant is dried and injected a few inches under the soil on farms, used as fertilizer for the food we eat. You can't avoid it.

  7. if it was a matter of life and death maybe. but i think it's pretty gross. a) it's potty water and b) it's been "cleaned" with chemicals which i think we ingest WAY too much of these days...

  8. Well, at one point I'm sure all water was potty water...

I wouldn't drink it if it was just treated with chemicals and no filter. Filtered and treated, I probably would! It it was unfiltered there could still be solid pieces of f***s and such that the chemicals might not penetrate. Also it would probably be so unappetizing that I might just throw it up and not be able to drink it! :P

  9. No!

  10. No, never. Too many disease organisms.

OTOH, if it was run through a reed bed and exposed to sunlight, it might just be drinkable in a survival situation, but I would still be concerned about chemical like oestrogens and mercury and cadium and PCB,s etc, etc.

  11. I would through it the Presidents face.

...You try to drink this c**p!!!...opps sorry, did I spill alittle on your nice shiny shoes?

  12. Um... If you have a flush toilet and a municipal water treatment plant, you ALREADY drink chemically treated potty water.

Water treatment makes it safe for drinking.

What, where did you think your flushes sent it all to?

    EDIT:  Thanks  :)

  13. Every country has water treatment plants. It basically re-cleanes gutter water.

  14. no - sounds gross
