  1. yes as long as i could do that and still promote green living online. the more awareness that is taught, the more contributors to green living we will have.

  2. This is my plan for life.  I am going to build my home from recycled cargo containers.  Solar power, composting toilet, zeer pots (instead of refrigerator), grow my own food (so I'll have to be a raw foodist or eat mostly raw at least), living in a secluded area...  I can't wait!!!  I just need some money to get started.  My husband is from a country where most people live that way anyway.  But he hated it.  So I told him he can stay in the city and we'll visit each other. lol

  3. Sure i would  do that ....

  4. I sure wouldn't I like society even if it hurts the planet. I believe the planet can take care of itself.

  5. Sure if I had Sheena (Is a Punk Rocker) to live with me!

  6. I wouldn't mind it, but my husband would never go for it.  So here I am.  :)

  7. If you think about the Amish or other "plain" people, it happens all the time.  You do have to think about just exactly what you are willing to give up and weigh that against the gain.

And it is a lot of work.  Just planning ways to have enough food for the winter is a chore in and of itself.  But it is exceedingly do-able.

And yes, I try to live that way as much as possible anyway.  I garden, and can my own food.  I use a clothesline to dry my family's clothes, I sew, cook, smoke meat, and use a minimal amount of electricity and water.  If I could (my hubby does have to work after all) we would be living on a few acres in the mountains and have a completely self-sufficient life-style with solar and micro-hydro energy and minimal auto use.  A few chickens, a couple of pigs, and a milk cow with a big garden and a small assortment of fruit trees would keep us fed.   The only things we would have to buy would be flour, sugar, coffee, and spices.

When the kids get out of school, that is probably what we will do.

  8. If I knew how to yes I would, and I think I would love it.

  9. Hahahaha.  Do you realize how many people would be begging for their nice comfortable life after only two weeks living a completely green life?  Have you ever tried to live a natural life for two weeks?  I have.  It's nothing but me, my knife, axe and the few supplies I can fit in a backpack and nature.  It is d**n hard work.  Survival is not easy.  Too many people have romanticized the idea of living a totally natural life because they have been separated from it for so long.  We didn't invent all these technological advancements because our lives were simple and we needed something to keep us busy.  They came about because man was looking for a way to make life easier.  Don't get me wrong, you might love living this way, as I do, but it isn't for everyone.  Very few people would be happy abandoning their modern day conveniences.  No more daily showers, no TV, no computer, no car, no Ipod, no refrigerator, etc.  Some people would have to give up too much and could never be happy.

  10. People who embrace extremist views and philosophies believe all large machines are inherently evil, and - worse - science is used to justify positions "that actually have nothing to do with science."

These viewpoints are naive, including the oft-stated wish to return to a "Garden of Eden." How ironic, that these same people use cell phones, laptops and jet planes as the main tools of their trade.

  11. I've already pretty much dropped out of society.   Might as well live green while I'm at it.
