  1. I never buy pre-packed - thats just lazyness!  And I don't get organic either.  There is no way on earth you can ensure your greens don't get sprayed on by something, or have sprays seep into the water - and if its imported every dock in the world automatically sprays to ensure nothing naughty gets in the country.  Its all a con!

  2. I haven't eaten prepacked salad in a long time, I prefer to make it myself, because it makes me eat it more often because I hate to waste. It's my way of forcing myself to eat healthily lol.

I don't do organic though - I see no difference whatsoever, except on my pocket!!

  3. Every once in a while I'll grab a pre-packed salad, but most often I make it fresh.

  4. Have it fresh always...

  5. Oh no, none of that rabbit food for me. Maybe if it was smothered in melted cheese and deep fried...

  6. OMG! Does that mean organic vegetables are grown in dirt, well I never. They'll be telling you carrots and potatoes come out of the ground soon.

I grow some and buy some, if it comes in a packet there isn't much you can do about it.

  7. There is always some "study" that says -insert food item here- is bad. Considering how many things were thought to be bad for you by some "study" years ago (ie real Butter, canned tuna, canned sardines just to name a few) are now being  hailed as good by yet other "studies".

I'd say it's time to stop wasting money on these "studies".

  8. I have tried to like pre-packed salad . But they are awful . Organic is too expensive . So I buy fresh and British and do my own

  9. oh great. a new scare!

d**n is it even safe to grow your own these days?

I've started washing my veg n fruit lately.. after  seeing a fruit seller picking up a box worth of tomatoes he'd dropped into the gutter. Naturally he didnt throw them away.. or wash them

believe me, that's a lot worse than any pre-packed stuff can give you

  10. i grow my own

  11. I've never had a prepacked salad and I've never went out of my way to buy organic either. If I'm buying salad veg, I buy whatever looks the best for a reasonable price.

  12. Yes I would eat it. If we had to stop eating everything we are told is bad for us we would die of starvation.

  13. I eat whatever i can get my hands on the quickest

  14. I don't eat salad full stop.

  15. The only salads I eat are ones I make and put together myself.

I prefer to know for a fact that my veggies have been washed properly....I'm just picky that way.

  16. i eat them all the while but i do like a kabab under my salads.

  17. both

But i always wash it regardless of whether it's pre-packed or not

  18. Have it fresh! How lazy are people these days, when you can buy peeled oranges!? Beggars belief.

  19. Yep I just ate some pre-packed organic rocket, spinach and watercress with my lunch today.

I didn't wash it as it said it was prewashed - I feel OK so far....but it was only 2 hours ago

I've been eating this for months without washing it myself, and nothing bad has happened yet.  I'll let you know if I develop food poisoning :)

  20. Anything we buy 'might' be contaminated, that's why you should wash all of your fruit and veg before use, regardless of pre-packing or not.

I have eaten pre-packed salad for years with no problems at all.

  21. we never buy prepacked salad its a waste of money, just buy 2 small  different  lettuce  chop them up and put in a sealer bag, and we dont buy organic.
