  1. not really, no.

because if you go for spanish, italian or whatever you may fancy, if the cuisine is from a chef ,whose origins have something to do with the food, then he /she is suposed to know how to write down the board / menu.

i am an italian chef, my boyfriend is an italian chef.

in our spare time , we enjoy eating out and chilling out.

of course, it has happened to us to try different places in nice / fancy locations for risotto, pizza or paella, in our leisure time, and you find people from all different countries cooking and writing menus for a type of cuisine they have learnt from a previous place and so on.

in reality if you are a proper brit, you'll know whether a pie is genuinely made from somebody who knows what a pie should taste like. or fish and chips. maybe proper wood fired pizza or risotto, or asian food.

i could learn how to run a chineese take away over the next few months, however i am not sure i could beat our super talented, skilled asian chefs.

let everyone do what they are best at.

i am sure you can healthily enjoy nights out in an establishment where they know their business.....xxxx

  2. Az loong az thu fud tastes gud I woodent kair.

  3. Hi Rosebud...

I was just having this debate a day ago.

It's one thing if it's one word that slipped through, but I saw one (American born citizen owned) restaurant menu with NUMEROUS misspellings on it.

I wouldn't totally disregard it, but it wouldn't be high on my list of places to visit unless it came highly recommended or a friend worked there.

I'm anal about misspelling, especially when words that contain letters with circumflexes or cedilla's are not used (in words like crème fraîche and curaçao)

  4. i would eat there,as although the head chef drafts the menus it shows that he doesnt do the admin,so all the staff are in there wright place

  5. I could never spell ratatouille and used to write RAT-A-2-E on the chalk board but it never put anyone off, Bar-B-Q is another miss-spelling which is acceptable

  6. I would eat there, the owners may speak English as a second or a third language but write the menus in English so that everyone can understand them.  I don't think it means they are dirty or can't cook.

  7. Spelling and cooking are two different things, you don't need to spell good in order to prepare food right. So no, it wouldn't put me off.

  8. no because It shows they are Lazy, If they cant even spell check thier menu , It makes you wonder what else are they being half azz on

  9. No, if the spelling is dodgy maybe food is too!

  10. It doesn't put me off, especially if i am hungry. Somtimes they just have problems with grammar.

  11. Certainly not if they don't know when to put an apostrophe in its.

  12. yes i would eat it

  13. no, i wouldn't eat there.

  14. If someone works at a food establishment that means the don't work at the printing company.

  15. i wouldnt eat there as it's so unprofessional to not get the menu proof read. imagine what the unprofessional kitchen might be like!

  16. I go for the quality of the food not the quality of their spelling.

  17. Wouldn't put me off...in fact one of the nicest and (slightly worryingly) swankiest restaurants in our area spells quite a few things wrong...I ordered the Chickern the other day and my sister got the Carb Spirng Rolls. It was actually quite funny looking through the menu - some entertainment while we waited for the (mis-spelt) meals :)

  18. sure, i'm already there. by the way, you misspelled misspell. but misspelling an item is no reason to judge their food

  19. ermm, depend on the food picture (of it has one), maybe ask the waiter/waitress what it is. But I wouldnt, a bit cheep and tacky =].

  20. Hello Welcome to The Redneck All you can eat resturant we might  nto splel evyhting jsut right...yet our food is great........come on in...

Yes of corse I would mis prints could happen ya know...and plus whos to say that the ppl doing the menu even when to school passed 9th grade

    u never know

  21. If the restaurant is professional they would know how to proof read. It means high standards. I don't care if the owners don't speak English as a first language--find someone who does and have them proofread it. And it's not just English--this applies for any language. It shows the owners followed standard procedures and didn't cut corners.

I know that spelling and food have nothing to do with each other, but it speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism. I understand if there's one mistake, but if the menu is something that looks like a middle schooler typed then I'd be apprehensive about eating there.

  22. lol the takeaway menu dilemma!

youre drunk and hungry but u just know the menu graphics = c**p food!

    what do you do?
