No.  The risk of dying from blood loss or infection would be higher than the risk of dying from starvation so it just wouldn't make sense.  Plus unless you were in the middle of the desert there's probably SOMETHING to eat.

In the sense of for feeding reasons? or as happened a couple of years ago, to free myself from under a boulder?

Personally I don't know if I'd have the guts to do such a thing.

The good news is, I've studied wilderness survival and I probably could survive pretty well without anything that dire.

I guess I would try, but im really skinny and dont have any meat on my bones, so it problably wouldnt do me any good anyways! lol

I would rather eat a rotting animal carcas. I can create fire out of thin air, so I would cook it to the right temp to avoid illness. Then I would magically make myself appear at an all-inclusive resort/spa and eat real food.... or maybe I'll just do that first.

Why would you want to eat your own appendage? The massive bleeding would make you die pretty quickly. Wouldn't you rather have a slow, painful death from starvation? I sure would. At least I wouldn't be in severe pain from ripping my own arm off with my teeth. Sheesh.

No.  There's plenty of food in the wilderness if one knows where to look.

I don't know.  I doubt that anyone can really know until they are in the situation.  It would be of doubtful benefit since both eating without removal and eating after removal will produce bleeding and probably shock, both of which can kill you.  This, of course, defeats the purpose.

No, because when i get out of the wilderness i wont have arms or legs. Also, what if i never get out because then i wont be able to run away from bears or try and catch fish.

I would hope to not put myself into a position to make a decision like that; however I believe that any person that reached that point would be much to weak to make that decision.
